Woman’s Health & Menopause
Menopause should been seen as a positive time in our lives, It’s a time of self discovery, but we need to recognise it and know how to make those positive changes.Having specialised in women’s health and menopause for many years in my previous NHS practice, I’m well versed on all things hormonal and the importance of tailoring this to the individual.
We can explore any symptoms you may have such as irregular periods, low energy, sleep disturbances, weight issues, stress or brain fog.
We can investigate your long-term health risk or how to improve your energy levels, fitness, mood, sleep, stress or weight management.
There are ways to reduce menopause symptoms through science-backed lifestyle changes. When indicated, I prescribe body-identical hormones in line with the British Menopause Society guidelines, which can be effectively monitored and tailored to your symptoms.
If your hormone replacement is still not effective, we can explore what other changes may need to be made, integrating lifestyle changes for a more comprehensive approach to menopause.
Many people are unaware that gut and motility issues are common during menopause, regardless of whether a woman is using HRT. Oestrogen plays a key role in maintaining and repairing the gut lining, so when its levels become too high or too low, the integrity of the gut barrier can be affected. This imbalance may contribute to what is often referred to as “leaky gut syndrome,” which in turn can exacerbate symptoms such as brain fog, memory difficulties, hot flushes, and disrupted sleep. Through exploring the diet and microbiome, all these symptoms can be improved upon.
I also prescribe testosterone cream, specifically designed for women, designed for those experiencing low testosterone symptoms such as decreased libido, fatigue and mood changes.
